Highcroft Gardens

The Gardens at Highcroft were the last piece of the jigsaw. Designed & built single handedly by Barry Richards they have been 20 years in the making and cover some 3 acres. Vast sways of colour and shape burst into life every summer offering some stunning views.

After receiving rave reviews in the written press and Gardening Magazines the gardens featured in Televisions ‘Gardeners World’ Program in 2009.   The Gardens are open to the public under the National Garden Scheme on the first and third Sundays of August between 1.30 and 5.30 with all proceeds going to charity. Visitors are also welcome by appointment between late June and early September for groups of 10+

The NGS writes “ 3 acre garden in the beautiful Tamar Valley. Japanese-style garden, hot boarder, pastel boarder, grasses, arboretum with hemerocallis and new blue boarders. Prairie planting containing 2,500 plants of herbaceous and grasses. Buddleia and shrub rose bank. Pond. All at their best in July August and September.”

There are always a large selection of plants from the Gardens for sale.

Parking and Cream teas are provided by the Methodist Church next door. Also open by appointment. No dogs.

5 miles NW of Saltash, 5 miles from Callington on A388 take Landaulph turning. 2 miles on turn left at Landaulph crossroads.
